Shell Shockers Weapons Guide: All Eight Guns and When to Use Them
Published · 2 min read
Shell Shockers gives you seven main weapons and a pistol, and the one you pick before you spawn decides how you should play the next few minutes. Here is what each one is good at, taken from the game's own loadout screen, and when to switch.
The all-rounders
EggK-47. The default rifle: a high rate of fire, medium range and a magazine that lasts. It never feels like the wrong choice, which is why most players start with it. Aim for the body and keep the trigger down in short bursts to hold the spread tight.
Tri-Hard. Fires three-round bursts and is accurate at medium range. Each burst does a lot of damage if all three land, so it rewards a steady aim over spraying. It is the weapon to learn once the EggK-47 feels easy.
Close range
Scrambler. The shotgun: two shots and a reload. Up close a blast does critical damage, but at range it does almost nothing. Use it on maps with tight corners and stairs, and always reload before you turn the next corner.
Whipper. A big magazine for close to medium range. It shreds anyone who walks into it, and the long clip means you can take two fights before reloading. It struggles against a sniper across an open map.
Long range
Free Ranger. A semi-automatic sniper: you can fire as fast as you click, but each shot needs to land. Good for holding a long line and punishing anyone who stands still.
Crackshot. The bolt-action sniper with one-shot stopping power. One hit cracks an egg outright, but a miss leaves you working the bolt while they find you. Play it from high ground, and move after every shot.
Splash
RPEGG. A small magazine, medium distance and big damage in an area. It does not need a direct hit, which makes it strong against eggs hiding behind a crate. The small magazine is the catch: count your shots.
The sidearm, grenade and melee
Every loadout carries the Cluck 9mm pistol. Pressing E to switch to it is faster than reloading, so finish a cracked egg with the pistol and reload the main gun afterwards. Q throws a grenade, which clears a capture zone in King of the Coop, and F is a melee hit for when both guns are empty.
Which one first?
Start with the EggK-47 to learn the maps. Move to the Tri-Hard when your aim is steady, take the Crackshot on big open maps, and the Scrambler on small ones. Change weapon when the map changes — the best players do.
