Shell Shockers Game Modes: Free For All, Teams, Captula the Spatula and King of the Coop
Published · 1 min read
Shell Shockers has four modes, and each one wants a slightly different way of playing. You choose the mode when you create a private game; public servers rotate through them.
Free For All
Every egg for itself. The score is your kills, and the respawn is quick, so the game rewards staying alive long enough to build a Shell Streak. Play the edges of the map, take fights one at a time, and let other players crack each other in the middle.
Teams
Two teams, and the team with more kills wins. Stay near your teammates so that an enemy who shoots one of you is shot by two. The same Shell Streaks apply, and a team where two players are on a streak is very hard to stop.
Captula the Spatula
Capture the flag, with a spatula. Take the other team's spatula from their base and carry it back to yours while your own is still at home. The carrier is slow and obvious, so one player carries and the rest clear the path. A Scrambler or Whipper at your own base stops most runs.
King of the Coop
A zone appears on the map; the team that holds it scores. Grenades are at their best here, because everyone is in the same small area. Hold the edges of the zone rather than standing in the middle, and switch to a close-range weapon for this mode.
Private games
Create Private Game lets you pick the map and the mode and gives you a code. Your friends enter it with Join Game. It is the way to play with a class or a group without random players, and a good way to learn a map before playing it in public.
